What?
Cultural Mediation & Storytelling in Museums - using theatre, video and digital technologies is a practical training course for adults working in the cultural field (museum and cultural heritage professionals, theatre professionals, etc.) in any stage of their career.

This five-day training course gives an in-depth approach on different manners of informal education and effective communication with the various types of museum audiences and their specific needs by the use of theatre techniques, videos, mobile Apps and other new technologies.
This innovative course has a very structured lecturing plan developed by qualified international lecturers, experts in Cultural Heritage & New Technologies, Theatre Techniques and Museum Education. The training consists in frontal theoretical lectures, practical workshops, the analysis of case-study examples, on-site visits and group-work.

Why?
This course gives the participants the opportunity to develop and improve their professional competences, knowledge and skills, to improve the way to perform their current or future job, by providing them the theory, tools, practical experience and methodologies to apply in their professional career in the cultural field. The training course is also an excellent opportunity for inter-cultural peer-learning, to exchange knowledge and experiences between participants from different countries and professional backgrounds.

After the participation in this training course the participants will:
know why and how to apply theatre techniques in the museum environment
know how to use and how to take benefit of new media in the cultural heritage field
know how to use and how to take benefit of the use of mobile Apps in museums
know tools to create a simple App to use in museums
know how to use and how to take benefit of user generated content in museums
be able to analyse case-study examples using the acquired theories and methodologies
be able to apply the acquired theories and methodologies to their own case-study/situation
know different manners of informal education and effective communication with the various types of museum audiences and their specific needs be able to mediate and communicate in an effective way with the public by using and applying theatre techniques, videos, mobile Apps and other new technologies.

What does it cost?
EU-citizens can apply for a European IST-Grant (Grundtvig In service Training mobility Grant)

to cover:
the course fee of € 650
travel, accommodation and subsistence costs.

NB. The application deadline for European grants is 17 September 2013!
